Algiz AS is a Norwegian technology company developing solutions for rapid emergency assistance in the workplace. Our product is used in situations where a fast response from colleagues can make all the difference - whether it’s a threatening situation, a workplace accident or any other incident where someone needs immediate help.

Our solution has already been launched and is in active use by customers, and we are now entering an exciting growth phase. Algiz is backed by 21 committed shareholders, an experienced board of directors and a small, dedicated team with offices in Alta and Oslo.

We work closely with experienced development partners in both Norway and Estonia, covering expertise in hardware, electronics and software development.

This is a unique opportunity to become our first in-house developer.

Until now, our product has been built in close collaboration with our external development partners. We are now establishing our own internal engineering team, with the ambition of bringing more and more development in-house.

You will work closely with our development partners while taking a key role in building internal technical expertise and shaping the future technical direction of the company.

About the Role

As our Developer / Technical Lead, you’ll play a key role in the continued development of the Algiz platform.

You’ll contribute directly to product development, act as a technical sparring partner, and participate in architectural discussions, technical decisions and prioritisation.

Initially, you’ll work closely with our experienced development team in Estonia, who know the product inside out and have been instrumental in building it. You’ll actively contribute to development, follow up technical deliveries and gradually take on increasing technical responsibility as the company grows.

This role offers significant influence over how our technology evolves, while working in close collaboration with the founders, product team and development partners.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Develop and maintain our mobile app (iOS & Android)
• Continue developing our web-based administration platform
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs and integrations
• Build and improve AI-powered development workflows
• Help ensure high availability, stability and quality in a safety-critical product
• Maintain servers, databases and cloud infrastructure
• Contribute to code quality, testing and release processes
• Improve development workflows and source code management
• Collaborate closely with external developers and technology partners
• Contribute to technical decisions and future product development

Technologies You’ll Work With

Frontend

• Vue 3 (administration platform)
• React Native with Expo (mobile app)
• Native modules in Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS) for Bluetooth communication

Backend

• Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Storage & Hosting)
• Express.js
• REST APIs

We’re Looking For Someone Who

• Has experience developing mobile and/or web applications
• Has a solid understanding of backend development, APIs and databases
• Has experience with React Native, Vue.js or similar frameworks
• Has experience with Firebase or other modern cloud platforms
• Actively uses AI tools in software development—or is excited about how AI can improve products and development workflows
• Is comfortable using Git and modern development tools
• Works in a structured manner and takes ownership of deliveries
• Enjoys working across the full technology stack
• Likes collaborating and discussing technical solutions with others

It’s a Plus If You Have Experience With

• Technical leadership or serving as a Tech Lead
• Coordinating software development teams
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
• Kotlin and/or Swift
• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments

Bluetooth communication between the alarm device and the mobile app is a core part of our product. Previous experience is an advantage, but a willingness to learn is even more important.
